The Common Cup Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering academic excellence by alleviating the financial barriers to higher education for students from historically marginalized communities in Chicago. Rooted in the principle of lifting as we climb, we provide direct financial support to incoming college freshmen. Our mission is to ensure that the next generation of community leaders possesses the essential resources needed to thrive academically and reach their full potential.

What is the "Common Cup"?
The "Common Cup" represents the collective spirit and shared resilience of historically marginalized communities. It is the cultural tradition of the village to pool its strength, wisdom, and resources into a single vessel so that everyone can be sustained. It is rooted in the understanding of Ubuntu—that our progress is tied to one another, and that we have a collective responsibility to pour into the next generation so they never have to pour from an empty cup.
